Welcome To Abintra

Welcome to Abintra - a truly unique community where learning extends far beyond the traditional boundaries of the classroom.

What initially impresses our visitors is Abintra’s beautiful 10-acre wooded campus.  Flower beds, herb gardens, art installations, and six acres of hiking trails wind throughout the campus, providing a dazzling backdrop for outdoor learning and discovery.  Our classrooms are specifically designed to create inviting spaces for students to explore our rigorous curriculum to their full potential.

But if you take a closer look, you will find what really sets Abintra apart from other schools:  an essential combination of experienced faculty, inspired students, and committed parents, working together to foster a sense of trust and community which is essential for learning.  With these principles in place, we nurture graduates who embody the qualities of independence, self-reliance, and confidence – qualities that are prized for a lifetime.  Diversity in all forms is a high value of Abintra.  Various family configurations are found throughout the school's classrooms.

While keeping with a traditional academic calendar, admissions is an ongoing process.  It is never too early to submit an application, particularly if you would like first consideration for a specific program.  Abintra enrolls approximately 25-30 new students each year with most openings offered to the younger early childhood applicants.  Through our admission process, we strive to balance each classroom through a compliment of age, gender, and developmental profile.  Above all, Abintra is committed to meeting the individual needs of each child.

We are proud of the community that Abintra parents envisioned and built over the past three decades.  Whether you attend an open house or schedule a private campus tour, we are certain that you will find a warm, caring community that celebrates learning.  We hope that your family will consider joining our family here at Abintra!

Laura Lloyd, Abintra's Admissions Coordinator, joined the Abintra staff in the spring of 2001. She served on the Board of Trustees in the 1999-2000 school year. Laura received a BS in marketing from the University of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida before working as a marketing rep for Ortho Pharmaceuticals and marketing director for RCA records in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Laura is the founder of the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee. Her son is an Abintra graduate.
