Our Comprehensive Human Sexuality Program:

Providing students and parents with information and facts is the framework of our comprehensive sexuality curriculum. Our program is science-based, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive of all gender identities and sexual orientations. In conjunction with the classroom lessons our students receive, we provide Parent Education workshops that give parents the tools to have comfortable and confident conversations with their children about sexuality. Workshops are open to the public with registration.

Early Childhood Focused Sexual Education Workshop: Communicating With Your Child About Sexuality - For Parents of Children Ages 0-8

Workshop Dates and Registration Above!

We are born sexual beings. We hear so much in the news, and so many of our experiences around sexuality might have been negative. It's our role as parents to support the growth and development of our children so they can grow into sexually healthy adolescents and adults.

So what does healthy sexuality look like at age 3-7?

By age 7, children:

  • Already have a sense of their gender identity.

  • Know how people are expected to behave according to the gender identity they have been assigned.

  • Wonder about where babies come from.

  • May have a sense of their sexual orientation.

  • Are forming ideas and attitudes about their bodies and about what love and caring look like.

In this workshop, you will learn:

  • What is age and developmentally appropriate for your child regarding their sexual development.

  • How to answer your children's questions and what messages to send to help support healthy sexual development.

Whether you think it's too early, or you already feel behind, the time to start is now. Communication with your child will flow much easier when they are teens if you start to lay the groundwork for these important conversations now.

Join us to address the most common concerns and questions parents and caregivers have. If you are a parent of a 0- to 8-year-old, this workshop is for you, as well as anyone who is a part of your "village:" caregivers, nannies, grandparents, etc.
